Terms of Use
Effective Date: September 3, 2026
This English version is provided for convenience; the Korean version is the governing text.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the individual operator (the "Operator") of "Freeit" (the "Service") and users of the Service.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "Service" means the fridge food management application and related services provided by the Operator.
- "User" means a member who uses the Service under these Terms.
- "Space (Fridge)" means a unit for managing food information together, created by a user or joined via an invitation.
Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of Terms)
- These Terms take effect by being posted on the Service screen or otherwise announced.
- The Operator may amend these Terms to the extent not in violation of applicable law, and will announce the effective date and reason for any amendment at least 7 days in advance (30 days for changes disadvantageous to users) via an in-service notice or similar means.
Article 4 (Provision and Modification of the Service)
The Operator provides the following services:
- Registering and managing food in the fridge, and checking expiration dates
- Automatic food recognition via photo/receipt capture (AI analysis)
- Sharing a space (fridge) with family members and other users
- Managing a shopping list
- Other services additionally developed or provided by the Operator
The Operator may modify or discontinue all or part of the provided services based on service needs or operational/technical necessity.
Article 5 (Registration and Accounts)
- Users may sign up and sign in via email, Google account, or Apple account.
- Users must provide accurate information when signing up, and bear responsibility for any disadvantage arising from providing false information.
- Users are responsible for managing their account credentials (such as passwords) and may not transfer or lend them to third parties.
Article 6 (User Obligations)
Users must not engage in the following:
- Using another person's account without authorization
- Reproducing, distributing, or commercially using information obtained through the Service without the Operator's prior consent
- Any act that could interfere with the stable operation of the Service (such as accessing it through abnormal means)
- Posting or registering information or content that violates applicable law
- Defaming others or infringing on their rights
Article 7 (Rights to Content)
- Rights to content users register with the Service (food names, photos, memos, etc.) belong to that user.
- Users agree that the Operator may use such content to the extent necessary to operate, provide, and improve the Service.
- Master food information and images registered as shared/public data may be viewed and used by other users of the Service.
Article 8 (Paid Subscription Services)
- In addition to free use, the Service offers paid auto-renewable subscription products (Plus, Plus AI — each available monthly or annually) that unlock additional features. The product name, subscription period, and price follow what is displayed on the App Store purchase screen at the time of purchase.
- Payment is charged to the user's Apple ID (App Store) account at the time the purchase is confirmed.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless the user turns off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment for renewal is charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Subscriptions can be managed, and auto-renewal turned off, at any time after purchase via Settings > [Apple ID] > Subscriptions on the user's device.
- If a free trial period is offered, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited once the user converts to a paid subscription during the trial.
- Billing and refunds are governed by Apple's policies; refund requests must be made through Apple (App Store).
Article 9 (Advertising)
Free-tier users may see advertising served through third-party advertising services on certain screens within the Service. Information collected and used to serve ads is governed by the Privacy Policy. Plus and Plus AI subscribers do not see ads.
Article 10 (Restriction of Service Use)
If a user violates these Terms or interferes with the normal operation of the Service, the Operator may restrict the user's access to the Service or suspend/revoke membership without prior notice.
Article 11 (Disclaimer)
- Expiration date and storage guidance information provided by the Service is general reference information and does not guarantee the actual safety or freshness of any specific food item. The final decision and responsibility regarding actual consumption rests with the user.
- The Operator is not liable for failure to provide the Service due to force majeure or outages of external providers used to provide the Service (hosting, database, etc.) that are not attributable to the Operator.
- The Operator has no obligation to intervene in disputes arising between users, or between a user and a third party, through the Service, and is not liable for any resulting damages.
Article 12 (Dispute Resolution)
Disputes related to these Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the competent court shall be determined under the Civil Procedure Act.
Addendum
These Terms take effect on September 3, 2026.
